Cilla & Camilla – the trading name of Dorset Retail Ltd – is owned by Richard Barker and Sally Ann Palmer. Sally Ann has a background in publishing and performing arts; Richard was previously a director of Waterstones Booksellers and General Manager of the Post Office network.
Dorset Retail Ltd was started in 2011 when a small gift shop was acquired in Beaminster. Since then the business has grown to become a thriving, well-liked and respected trader in the market towns of West Dorset.
Cilla & Camilla recognise the responsibilities that businesses have to protect the environment. All our electricity is purchased from 100% renewable energy sources and, at our counters, we only use recyclable paper bags and tissue.
We work consistently with our suppliers to reduce the amount of unnecessary packaging we use in our business. For example, our greetings cards are increasingly displayed and sold without plastic wrapping,and we now sell unwrappped Savon de Marseille soap.
Wherever possible we reduce our use of paper by ordering online and by receiving all supplier invoices and statements electronically. Virtually all our payments are made electronically.
We work with over 200 suppliers – local, national and international. We always welcome approaches from potential new suppliers.
In the first instance, suppliers should send details of products for consideration, visit our Supplier Information page for details. We aim to respond within 48 hours. We attend Top Drawer in the Spring and Autumn and also the Harrogate Gift Fair.
We prefer not to receive unsolicited approaches by telephone.
